The students created the IB Boomtown as the Summative Assessment piece for our How We Organize ourselves unit.  They had to use the information they learned about goods and services, as well as what they learned about decision making and economics.  Our Boom Town stores raised a total of $296.  The students chose to donate $148 to our Lafayette Park holiday walk (we helped 5 families from our school community), and the other $148 to the Kokomo Humane Society.  All of our students participated in the Holiday Walk.  Karen Wolfe from the Humane Society had come and done a presentation at the beginning of our IB Unit.  She talked to the students about the services provided by the Humane Society, responsible pet ownership, and the needs of the Humane Society.
